Dear Prayer Partner,

Thanksgiving Covid

For years, we have hosted fellow missionaries from nearby at Thanksgiving. It is a time to get away from the rush of daily ministry and enjoy fellowshipping with other missionaries. This year, however, our plans were interrupted because we came down with Covid. Thankfully, both of our cases were mild and we were able to get right back to work without any complications. Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for us.

Christmas Blessings

Beginning with ladies’ and men’s Christmas meetings, a churchwide American Christmas dinner, a churchwide Christmas party, and ending with Christmas Eve services we had a busy Christmas Season. God blessed us with 9 new visitors who heard the real meaning of Christmas for the very first time. Among them was an elderly man who is continuing to attend our services. Thank you for praying for us and our ministry here. Pray that God will bless us during the new year with many Japanese trusting Christ as their Savior.

New Year’s Day Earthquake

We welcomed the New Year with an earthquake. It had a magnitude of 7.6 and its epicenter was close to Noto Peninsula (100 miles from us). In our city, it had a magnitude of 6.1. Our building shook and items fell off the shelves, but there was no real damage. In the Noto area, (as of this writing) over 220 have died, 17,000 plus are living in temporary shelters, and 52,000 homes are still without water. We are thankful for God protecting us and our church family, but our hearts go out to those in Noto who have suffered so much. Please pray for missionaries in the area to be a blessing and a testimony as they help those who are in such great need.

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. We pray that God will richly bless and use you there.
