Sunshine in the Rain
In Japan, we have had a longer than usual rainy season. Amid the rain, we are reminded that God is in our midst. COVID 19 is still a real threat in Japan, but little by little our church family is returning to worship together. Laughter and fellowship once again fill our halls with much needed warmth and sunshine.
A Bright Tomorrow
What can brighten the ministry better than the younger generation? God has blessed us with 23 children, ages 1-16. Nineteen of them come faithfully every Sunday. Our 9 teenagers are growing and learning to encourage each other in the Lord. Our oldest teen is really sold out for God. She has asked us to pray with her as she prays about what God wants her to do with her future. Please pray God will light her path and show her what He wants her to do.
A Beacon of Light in Japan
We have finished our renovations and plan to dedicate our new building to the Lord on Sept. 21. Doing the work ourselves has been a little challenging for our ministry, but thanks to God’s grace, and His people sustaining us in prayer, the job is finished! Please pray God will use our church as a beacon to radiate the light of Jesus to the people of Japan.
Our Co-workers’ New Ministry
5 years ago, our co-workers Russ and Joy Stanford told us they felt God was calling them back to the US to help their 22-year-old autistic son. We have had a very blessed working relationship over the past 15 years and we were devastated. We thought, “What good could come from them leaving Japan?” For 5 years we prayed and they prayed. We prayed that God would change their minds, but God has something else in store for them. They will be returning to the US in October to open a thrift store for autistic adults. Their desire is to minister to these special people and their families. We are excited to see how God will use them to shine sunbeams of hope through their new ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and support. We pray God will watch over you during these challenging times.
