Grandma Has a Home in Heaven
Grandma (that’s what we call her) first came to Agape in last August. Her daughter and granddaughters had begun attending a short time before and invited her to come with them. In October, we began a Bible study with her. At first, she did not want to admit that she was a sinner, but after a few studies together, she began to see that she was a sinner who needed the Savior. What a joy it was to lead her in prayer as she called on the Lord to forgive her of her sin. What a thrill it was to see God work in this 81 year old grandma’s life. What a testimony this is to God’s power and His answer to prayer. Long before we began to pray for her salvation, her son, a doctor who had been saved while studying in the US, began to prayer for his family to be saved. As a result of his prayer and faithful witness, his whole family has trusted Christ as their Savior. Grandma was the last to be saved, but now she too has a home in heaven.
Christmas Blessings
Christmas is always a busy time of the year when we plan extra services so that we can share the true meaning of Christmas with the Japanese. This year God sent us 52 on Christmas Day. A good number of these were lost; some of them heard about the Savior’s birth and coming for the first time. Please pray for the Lord to work in their hearts. Pray that they will be back and come to know the Lord as their Savior.
Outreach Ministry
We continue to use tracts to deliver the life giving gospel message to homes in Nagaoka. God has blessed our efforts by sending many precious people our way; many of which are lost. We also continue to use the internet, Bible studies, personal invitations, and many other forms of outreach to share God’s love with the people of Nagaoka.
Cindy’s Health
Cindy has had to return to the US to undergo treatment to help alleviate pain that she has been experiencing (and progressively getting worse) since her hysterectomy last March. She is in Oregon with our daughter and family. Please pray that this treatment (which they don’t offer in Japan) will help her fully recover and quickly return to our work in Japan.
