Covid-19 in Our Area
For a long time, we had only a few reported cases of Covid-19 in our area. However, in April and May local cases began to climb. At one point, it was so bad that local hospitals were sending patients to neighboring cities. Thankful the numbers are coming down now. We are thankful that we are still able to meet for services.
Our Japanese Web Site
We continue to upload our Sunday morning preaching to both Facebook (video) and our church website (audio). Both of these are in Japanese and are primarily aimed at people in our community. If you are witnessing to Japanese in your area, please feel free to introduce them to our website. We would be delighted to answer any of their questions about the Lord. Our New Tract
We produced a new tract to use in gospel outreach. The front is in English (which is appealing to Japanese), but the inside is in Japanese. It is about how God loves sinners and sent us a Savior to deliver us from sin. Most of it is direct quotes from the Bible. Pray that God will bless His Word as it is distributed. Pray for the Japanese to understand their need and trust Christ as their Savior.
Ongoing Building Project
When we bought our buildings and property from the Japanese government, it came with lots of extras. We have finished the renovations on the inside of our church building. This summer we will be working on fixing up the outside as well. The biggest part of this is the demolition of a 4 story apartment building on the backside of our property. It will also include the removal of many other extras that are an eyesore. We will also be replacing a rusty and dangerous fire escape with a new spiral staircase. Please pray for strength and wisdom in dealing with all of these projects.
