Dear Prayer Partner,
Visiting Joetsu Bible Baptist Church
Years ago, we had the privilege of helping start Joetsu Bible Baptist Church. In June, we visited this church again. What a joy it was to see a number of the people from years ago still faithfully serving the Lord! It was an added blessing to see how God has brought others into the church over the years. We are thankful for His faithfulness and for the continued growth of this church. Please pray for God to continue to bless the Kajisas as they faithfully serve the Lord and minister in the city of Joetsu.
8 Baptisms
On July 12, it was a great joy to see eight believers follow the Lord in baptism! Six of those baptized were Jon’s youngest children. What a special joy it is to see your grandchildren follow the Lord! The other two were Japanese believers, Brother Y and Sister S. Both of them first visited our church last fall. We praise the Lord for their salvation and for their desire to publicly identify with Christ through baptism. Please pray with us for each of these. Pray that they will continue to grow as they walk with the Lord.
A Busy Summer
This summer has been especially busy for us. Jon and I have spent a number of days working on a building project at Japan Baptist Bible College. Pray for God to continue to bless the work of this Bible college as they train Japanese for the ministry.
We also had the joy of attending a two-day meeting for churches of the Japan Baptist Bible Fellowship. The preaching and singing were a real blessing, and it was especially encouraging to once again fellowship with Japanese pastors and believers from other churches.
